Thanksgiving Craft With Me | DIY Thanksgiving Decorations Ideas

Fall is finally here, the weather is feeling cooler and the leaves are changing! It’s the perfect time for Thanksgiving DIYs. Today I’ll share 3 quick and easy Thanksgiving crafts and then I’ll show how I styled the items we make into my Thanksgiving dining table. So, you’re getting crafts and tablescape ideas all in one post!

I also did a whole video tutorial, so click the image below to see all these ideas in action.

First, we’ll be making a topiary for the center of our table. We do plan on having Thanksgiving dinner at our small round table in the dinette area. So, based on your table size, you could definitely make 2 or even 3 topiaries if you need to fill up table space.

To get an idea for the color scheme, I started by shopping my own house with a few items that I knew I wanted to use. I’ll be keeping these items in mind as I create our new crafts. It’s always a great idea to start with a color palette, so you know everything will match together nicely. I also had some blue plates and flowers to incorporate.

I had this planter and wanted to paint it more of a greige. You can see that one side has a little too much pink to go with our beiges and blues in the tablescape.

After placing a styrofoam cube into the vase, I’m using a combo of craft sticks and bamboo skewers to attach the flowers and then sticking those into the floral foam.

Do you like the white pumpkin or blue pumpkin better? I decided to go with the blue, because it seemed a little more bold. And when your decorating the Thanksgiving table, may as well go bold, right?!

The next couple ideas are super easy and might even be a fun activity with the kids. These are ideas for napkin holders that cost next to nothing.

You can use a paper towel roll holder or one like this, which was inside some wrapping paper. I’m going to measure to the size I want my napkin holders and then cut this with a box cutter.

Next you’ll need some raffia. I’m using the last of a hula skirt I found at Dollar Tree in the Summer. But you could use any color of raffia for this. I just think this beige color will look so nice with the other items we’ll be using. Some hot glue and careful wrapping and you’ll have a beautiful napkin ring!

I did two like that and then wanted to use some burlap ribbon for the other two. So, we did this one in a similar fashion to the raffia ones.

You could go all out and decorate these with ribbon or attach a jewel, but I wanted mine to be simple and elegant.

I felt like I needed some sort of cute turkey on the table, but not too cutesy if that makes sense. So, let’s see what we can come up with.

I used my handy pom pom makers. I made 2 in different sizes, and I did make 2 in white to go with our color scheme.

I laid out some craft sticks and smaller popsicle sticks and then use my miter shears to trim them up.

I glued these together every once in awhile checking to make sure the pom pom would cover where the popsicle sticks ended.

I added 2 Jenga blocks to make this a little heavier so it wouldn’t topple over.

And then I painted this with the same greige chalk paint that we used on the vase.

For the beak, I drew it onto a piece of this Dollar Tree placemat that I had already chopped up for another project. I trimmed that out and painted it the same greige color. And then this was glued on.

I love how this came out and this would be so fun to mix and match with the other napkin rings or just place these on the kid’s table settings.

I knew I wanted an organic, cascading look to the florals. Even though the look is organic, there is structure to this. For example, if I place a floral branch or pumpkin on one side, I try to mirror it on the other side, so everyone has a similar view of the centerpiece.
