Box of Style | Subscription Boxes for Women
I have a lot of experience testing out subscription boxes for women….probably too much ($$)! I give you my honest reviews of subscription boxes with my first impressions and then I follow up with a top 5 items from all my seasonal subscription boxes after testing them out. My Summer FabFitFun unboxing is already posted and next week I will be sharing my Causebox, which is an awesome box because all the products are from companies whose missions work for a good cause. Check out the Box of Style video, if you want to see this unboxing in action, or keep reading to find out what I got!
If you’re new to Artsy Cupcake, welcome! I’m Maria and I share a lot more than just subscription boxes. The Box of Style quarterly subscription box from Rachel Zoe is in my top 3 favorite subscription boxes. It is the highest price at $99 per quarter, but you can get a discount at $349, if you purchase the whole year at once. It even has the fewest items compared to other subscription boxes, but what I like about it is that they are really high quality and expensive products. So, in this Summer 2019 box, the retail total of all the items if you were to buy them separately is over $400. Since I normally try to find things at a good price for myself, they are items I may not have picked out for myself. Sometimes I regift some of the stuff I get in these subscription boxes, so the ones from Box of Style work really well for regifting, since they are very nice, high-end products, usually with beautiful packaging. Some of the items are custom designed for this Box of Style, but I will make sure to link the items I can find, in case one of them catches your eye. Each item is curated for the season by Rachel Zoe and her team and there are a nice variety of around 5 products in the home, beauty and fashion categories. So, let’s get right into what came in this season’s box, so you can see if the Box of Style subscription box might be the one for you.
We have the always beautiful packaging on the Box of Style. This season’s is blush pink. The boxes are so nice, I save them and use for gift packaging. You get a little magazine going over everything in the box and sometimes there are a few coupons.
// Missoni towel
First, we have a Missoni beach towel. I love the colorful zig zag pattern and it does feel very thick and luxurious. This is perfect for summer and is a very large towel. Great for by the pool or taking to the beach. We will have to see if it is absorbent. For a towel that retails for $220, it better be!
// macrame purse
Next, is this super cute Danielle Nicole macrame handbag that retails for $100. I don’t have a Summer bag yet and I have been eyeing all the cute ones that have come out. I think this one will work perfectly because it is lightweight, will travel well, macrame is really in fashion right now and I love the little wooden handle. There is also a strap that can easily be hidden inside if you don’t want to use it. The quality is really nice on this handbag and I am really excited about this one! I couldn’t find the exact one, but here is a similar style.
// benefit 24 hour brow setter
The third item is the Benefit 24 hour brow setter. There is always at at least one beauty product in the Box of Style. This is full-sized and most products from Benefit are pretty good. This is a shaping and setting gel and retails for $24. Honestly, I will probably sell or regift this because I don’t have very thick eyebrows, so I don’t really have much to set or shape! So, I will probably list this on ebay and someone will get a good deal on it.
// glo skin SPF 40
The fourth item is this Glo Skin Beauty Oil-Free SPF 40 lotion. Have any of you tried this Glo brand before? Let me know in the comments section below! I never have heard of them, but this one has really high reviews and I love that it is oil-free, because well it is pretty hot and humid during the Texas summers so …yeah. SPF does have an expiration date, so I usually get a new one every Summer. This bottle retails for $38 and is large, so it should more than get me through the Summer.
// tortoise hoop earrings
The fifth and final item in the Summer Rachel Zoe Box of Style is a style item! These are the Machete Jewelry “Kate” hoop earrings in a tortoise pattern. They retail for $44. On some items, you get a choice of pattern or color before your box ships, so this was the one I had a choice on. The other color option was a pretty opal color. These are very lightweight and have stainless steel posts.
Let me know in the comments section below what your favorite item was. I am going to get to testing these out, so I can report back to you on my favorites from all my Summer subscription boxes.
