Last Minute Gifts for Him Under $20 | Gifts He'll Actually Want

Are you looking for some last minute Christmas gifts he’ll actually want? Dad’s, sons, boyfriends, husbands, even Grandpas…gifts for all guys can be a little tricky, so I’m here to take the guesswork out of it with 16 (!) last minute gifts for him and even better is that they’re all under $20!

// idea 1

Ok, my first idea is one I’ve been giving out for years and it’s always a big hit. This one is a car wash pass. You just need to know of a car wash that the guy you are shopping for lives near and then you stop by and ask if they sell gift cards or speed passes. Speed passes are great because they usually have a separate lane where you can just scan your card and bypass the lines. Some car washes also have unlimited monthly passes which are another good option.

Idea 2 is a portable battery pack. These are great for when you are out and about and your phone is about to die and you don’t have your charger. He can keep this in his glove compartment and have it ready to charge the phone or the iPad or whatever other electronic device he needs to charge.

// idea 3

Idea 3 is a poker or card game of some sort. It depends on what kind of stuff the guy you’re shopping for is into, but there are so many fun games out there for under $20. What I liked about this one is it actually comes with a lot of games. It has chess, checkers, backgammon, poker, playing cards and dominoes. sounds like a lot of fun all in one little package.

// idea 4

My next idea is the trusty old utility knife. This classic Swiss Army Knife comes in under $20, but you could always splurge on something like a Leatherman if you wanted to up the budget a bit. They have some really nice ones out there in all kinds of colors. These small ones are great to put on a keychain and they really come in handy.

Idea 5 is super easy – an Apple or Netflix gift card. Can’t go wrong there.

// idea 6

Idea 6 is a grooming kit. This one is cool, because it looks like a tool set with the bright yellow and black color scheme. If the guy you’re shopping for has a beard, maybe think more along the lines of beard trimmers and clippers, which you can find pretty cheap too.

Harry’s has some nice gift sets this year. You can find these at Target. They have some really sharp looking packaging (no pun intended) and it’s always nice to try out a couple new products. In this one, the razor comes with a shave gel and post shave balm.

Another way for guys to try out some new products is with Birchbox for men. If you haven’t heard of Birchbox, it started as a monthly subscription box for women but they have branched out to men’s boxes now. You get 5 personal grooming items in sample sizes and it costs $10 per month. You can cancel anytime without any penalties. Some of the items in the box may be moisturizers, shaving supplies, sunscreen, soaps, or hair products. I’ve even seen socks come in one of the boxes. So, you don’t know what you will be getting on any given month, which makes it kind of fun.

Idea 9 is a toiletry bag….but it’s a manly looking toiletry bag. It’s grey with some dark leather trim. These are great to throw in a suitcase for traveling or just to have a nice place to store all those samples he got in his Birchbox. These toiletry bags get beat up after a couple years of traveling with them, so having a nice shiny new one is always a welcome surprise.

If a guy on your shopping list likes to hit the gym, then a new gym bag might be a good option because think of those locker rooms…those bags can get gross pretty quickly, so a nice fresh one is always a good thing. I personally love gym bags that have a spot for the sneakers. This one I found on amazon.com has a shoe compartment and comes in black and white and even pink, if your dude happens to like pink.

// idea 11

And if they’re going to be using that gym bag, they may be needing a nice bar of soap. Nice soaps are kind of a luxury item and something most guys don’t think to splurge on. I don’t even buy myself $19 bars of soap, but I would gladly receive one in my stocking. When shopping for guy soaps, think along the lines of moss, oak, cedarwood, pine, basically anything outdoorsy.

If one of the guys on your list loves coffee, then a french press is an awesome gift to put under the tree. This one is under $20 and you even have a couple bucks to spare to throw in a bag of coffee.

// idea 13

Another item for the kitchen is this hot sauce sampler. This one has 3 flavors and I love these names. Zombie Apocalypse, Garlic Reaper, and Son of Zombie. They are a lot of fun to experiment with!

// idea 14

Next, we have this martini set. I love that this one has a nice wooden stand to display the items and it even comes with a little cocktail recipe book. All for under $20.

// Idea 15

Idea 15 is initial engraved cufflinks. You can find lots of different designs and styles of cufflinks for under $20, but I liked the personalization on these and liked that they came in a couple different styles, colors and shapes. They look like good quality and you get the 4 designs for under $20 which is a great deal.

He’s looking at a screen all day every day, sometimes it’s nice to actually pick up a real book and give your eyes a break. A coffee table book is a good gift option because they’re nice to display and have great imagery and are usually quick reads. This Lego Architect looked like a good one for a guy, and then this Timelines of Everything sounded like another good option. Other good coffee table books would be history books or car books or one on whatever your guy is into.
